NARPM Conventions and Trade Shows
Each year, the association hosts one of the most important conventions, similar to NAA’s Apartmentalize Conference. See more on the 2022 NARPM convention. ManageCasa frequently attends many of their events and others around the country as do other software and service businesses.
These trade shows and local networking events are attended by a variety of residential rental property professionals including landlords, apartment managers, investors, HOA management companies and property managers.
This year, NARPM’s Annual Convention and Trade Show will be held in Las Vegas Nevada.
The theme of the 2022 Convention is Share the Vision. No doubt NARPM’s members are eager to move on past the Covid 19 pandemic and welcome in a more prosperous and trouble free era.
Getting everyone on the same page is a task, yet if any organization can move property management forward, it would be NARPM.
NARPM’s Origins
The National Association of Residential Property Managers was launched in the 1980s when computerization was rapidly increasing. The industry didn’t have enough shared or standardized processes and regulations which would result in confusion as the rental business was being computerized.
In 1987, the organization’s first President was elected and in 1988, a newsletter was published 3 times a year.
The first national convention was held in November 1989. And in 1991 four one day educational courses had been created, designed for the single family home rental sector. The courses lead to the development of designations such as RMP, CRMC, CSS, and CRMB and other credentials for members.
In 1994, the organization developed a code of ethics and standards of practice, to enhance the professional behavior within the industry.
By 1989, membership had grown to 78 members, and by the fall of 1991, membership reached more than 150. It has since grown to over 6000 members, and more than 16,000 people on Linkedin are listed as members.
We hope to see you at the Kansas City Missouri convention on October 26th to October 29th 2021. It should be a fun conference. We’ll be publishing further news on the big event, so please do return to discover more.
